5235 Fitness zone

One of the oldest rivalries in the SEC, the Ole Miss vs. LSU game dates back to December 3, 1894 when the University of Mississippi defeated Louisiana State University 26-6 on their home field in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The teams have met on the fifty yard line 110 times, and each time (with the exception of the four times there was a tie!), there is a winner and a loser.

But this visit to Baton Rouge for the big game was different - different because my former rival on the field, fellow alum of the San Francisco 49ers, Eric Reid, and I were teaming up to donate a Whinker’s Mind Youth Fund Fitness Zone at The Salvation Army in Baton Rouge. No rivalry. No competition. Just teamwork to bring much needed resources to a community in need.

The 5235 BRLA Fitness Zone is the second project The Whinker’s Mind Youth Fund has done with Greenfields Outdoor Fitness and William Smith of NSite Construction and we couldn’t ask for better partners. It is our hope that the clients of The Salvation Army - Baton Rouge will be able to enjoy the Fitness Zone for many, many years.
