Through the construction of accessible, inclusive, durable FITNESS ZONES in under resourced communities and the donation of sports gear, PWCF is creating safe places for youth (and adults!) to build confidence, physical strength, and a deep understanding of the connection between physical and emotional well-being.

PWCF provides essential educational materials, journals, art supplies, and books to youth from rural communities to support the development of creativity, confidence, and academic potential. Recognizing that there are many types of learners, our programs focus on the needs of those with learning differences.

Just as roots provide stability and nourishment, a strong ethical core anchors us through uncertainty, empowering us to weather storms and emerge stronger. PWCF supports programs to develop connections for individuals of all ages and for educational and career pathways for youth in the foster care system.

Our Founder’s Story
Raised in Bruceton, Tennessee (pop. 1,500), Patrick Willis played college football for the University of Mississippi. Drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft, Patrick played his entire eight year career with the 49ers. Athletic achievements and recognitions include:

2007 AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award
The Butkus Award for college & professional football
College Football & Southeastern Conference [SEC] Hall of Fame
San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame

He has also been recognized for his impact in the community through numerous awards, including the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi’s Star of Hope Award and as an 8x 49ers Community Impact Award winner. Since retiring in 2015, Patrick has been active in a number of professional endeavors, including strategic investments in sports technology and communications platforms through The Whinker’s Mind LLC, focusing on developing resources in support of physical, mental and intellectual strength and wellness.
In 2021, Patrick launched his charitable fund (now The Patrick Willis Community Fund) in his hometown, celebrating the opening of the PWillyStyle Fitness Zone [42] and the 5235 Fitness Zone in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Seeking to pave a smoother path for youth with backgrounds similar to Patrick’s, PWCF supports those in need as they build the strength of their mind, body, and soul through programming around physical, intellectual, and emotional growth. PWCF is committed to lifting others, empowering them and providing them with the tools to not just survive but thrive.
